OWee 2016

Every year, a board of eight students spend half a year full-time to organize the welcoming week of the TUDelft, InHolland Delft and the Hague University. In 2016, I was a member of this board. 3000+ new students participated in the event and thousands of older studentes joined during our activities.

My Contribution

Every year, the OWee uses a new logo and graphic style. In 2016 created this. This includes the design of the logo, the print for the bags, program booklets, pub crawl cards, banners op to 2 by 10 meters, beach-flags and many more! I was also responsible for the design and layout of the BINAS, an information book that was send to all new students of Delft. You can find an digital version of the BINAS below.

Furthermore I maintained the social media canals and I helped organizing several events. To get an impression of these the events, watch the OWee 2016 aftermovie, see more photo’s on the Facebookpage*, or go to the website of the OWee*.

*Note that the graphic style of the Facebookpage and the website changes every year. Therefore, the shown style is not the one I created.

Lessons learned

During this period, I opened Illustrator for the first time. It was a huge challenge for me to design the graphic style for such a big event. Looking back at my work now, I realized I learned a lot and I’m really happy that I had this opportunity to learn these skills.

Maybe even more important are the soft skills I developed. It is not an easy job to organize an event of this size with just eight people who are all new to it. We worked together very well and formed a close team. It was a great experience!
